THE PIG near Bath occupies a 17th-century manor house with walled gardens and a working kitchen garden that feeds the menu directly. Set in a tucked-away Somerset valley just outside the city, it's the quintessential PIG retreat — unhurried, unpretentious and completely serious about what ends up on the plate. Everything here starts with what's growing outside.
The work
- • Help lead the kitchen team in delivering THE PIG's celebrated 25-mile menu concept, rooted in the kitchen garden and the best of local West Country producers.
- • Work closely with the Head Chef to develop menus that change with the seasons, the garden and whatever's arrived from trusted suppliers.
- • Supervise and hold a section or brigade during service, maintaining pace, consistency and quality throughout.
- • Mentor junior chefs and kitchen porters, fostering a creative, collaborative kitchen culture that values learning.
- • Assist with recipe development, ordering, supplier relationships and kitchen organisation.
